Denzel Washington Tells About His Prophecy
Academy Award-winner, Denzel Washington has no reservations about using his actor’s platform to share his beliefs of faith. He made it known that his success was actually the result of a prophecy he once received from a member of his community when he was just a young man. The road since then has been nothing less than miraculous, according to the star.
When asked about it in an interview with the Gospel Herald, the 63-year-old shared what was on his mind and heart. “I speak now and I’m doing what God told me to do from the beginning,” he started, “It was prophesied that I would travel the world and preach to millions of people. It was prophesied when I was 20. I thought it was through my work and it has been.” But it wasn’t just the prophecy that put him on this path, it was the words of his mother too that led him down this path. He explained, “My mother said to me when I was 59, she said, ‘Denzel, you do a lot of good. You have to do good the right way and you know what I’m talking about,'”. “I don’t drink anymore, I don’t do any of those things. I’m all about the message, to the degree that I know it, and I’m unashamed and unafraid to share it!”
Denzel Washington is the hero we admire, and he’s the villain that we condone. His roles have brought tears to our eyes, and they’ve filled our hearts with hope. He is Hollywood personified, but is Denzel Washington everything we thought he was? When figures emerge to speak from the shadows, perhaps we should start listening.

Washington’s newest film, Roman J. Israel, Esq., has raised some eyebrows. The film, which includes actors Colin Farrell and Carmen Ejogo, isn’t necessarily faith-based, but it does include biblical themes and faith. But it was the behind-the-scenes rituals that had peoples’ heads turning.
